Typewriter ribbon

I found this box of "Higher Yield Correctable Film Ribbons" in my basement the other day and I really loved the packaging design.  The asterisk above the r in 'kfr' is a nice touch, I'm not even sure if it is there to hint at some type of "fine print" elsewhere, or if it is just there for looks. Either way, I really like the typography. 

I think this film ribbon was used for typewriters once upon a time... 

...what are typewriters? (kidding.)
